[edit] History
Seng Kang Primary School first accepted students in 1997, when it was still in Hougang Town, along Upper Serangoon Road.
In 1998, it moved to Sengkang Town, which had just been completed. It resumed operations at Compassvale Walk, in a spanking new school compound.
In 1999, Compassvale Primary School, which was supposed to start operations in its new school building, shared the school compound with Seng Kang Primary. This was because its own building had a collapsed roof and thus unable to be occupied. A year later, Compassvale Primary returned to the original building.

[edit] Intake
In 1998 when it first operated in Sengkang, being the only school then, it had an intake of 11 classes of 40 pupils in the first half of the year. In the second semester another class of 40 pupils was added to the already large cohort.
In 2001, many of the students in Seng Kang Primary transferred to Nan Chiau Primary School, which has a much more renowned history.
After more primary schools sprouted in Sengkang, the intake of students per year dropped, to an all time low in 2004, with only 5 Primary One classes, compared to 12 classes in 1998.
However, its pioneer Sengkang batch of 1998 graduated in 2003 with 14 classes, the highest in Singapore for that year.
After Foo Xiang Peng from Seng Kang Primary became the student with the highest PSLE aggregate in Singapore in 2004, Seng Kang Primary became much more renowned, leading to more parents finding out about its programmes. As such, the intake started to increase in 2005 and in 2007, there will be 11 classes in Primary One.
