Sen Smith

Sen Smith, AKA (Seneca Smith, Seneca Rivers, Sen, SenCity, Dj SenCity and Senister) is an American singer/songwriter, DJ, music producer, filmmaker, writer and guitarist for punk/alt/indie rock band The Black Decibel Fire. Born (July 31st, 1979) in Dallas, Texas. Smith currently resides in Laguna Beach, California.

He plays a Vintage Danelectro, Gibson Sunburst Les Paul, Larivee D-05, Manson Custom Electric, Epiphone Noel Gallagher Union Jack, 1962 Fender Strat and an ES-335. Has a reputation of writing deep, saddening, and sometimes disturbing, ironic lyrics with an oblique and post-modern arrangement. He has worked with many artists and is currently in the studio making his upcoming album which has been described as "Radiohead dripping into a Misfits soup eaten by the Arcade Fire and digested with a dash of Queen for good measure." Has been linked to notable bands such as: Radiohead, Muse, Paul Oakenfold, UK Subs, DC Talk, Fatboy Slim, Moby, Dj Sascha, Paul Van Dyke, Kylie Minouge, Keane, Rufus Wainwright, Travis, Benny Benassi, The Benassi Brothers, Scissor Sisters, NAS, Kanye West and many more.

Son of Jon Rivers, a popular christian music radio personality with a nationally syndicated morning show with an average of 1.5 million listeners (www.jonrivers.com and www.klove.com). Married to Allison Elizabeth Rose, September, 2002 in Dallas, Texas. They have one child, Liam Stewart Smith born (April 17th, 2003) in Dallas, Texas. Divorced in October, 2003. Has been romantically linked to many women over the years but is assumed to be single as of now. Is now known to be in a relationship as of 3/30/2007 to an unknown woman.

His production style has been described as, unique, strange and complex, very dense layers often with very odd and strange sounds intertwined into songs combined with strong bass lines and falsetto guitars, often uses organs combined with trumpets. At times far to complex for most people, and it sometimes overshadows the artist's own prescence on the song. Is known to be very difficult to work with due to his strange appoach and paranoid, sometimes neurotic behavior. Alot of times seen simply sitting still and speechless, for hours at a time in deep concentration, usually with a cigarette, coffee and a chess board along with pad and pen. Then all of the sudden just begin to write and have a song in minutes. Writes songs very untypical of songwriters, writing the lyrics first and applying the music afterwards. This is extremly difficult because writing lyrics into pre-laid musical tracks is somewhat easy as compared to writing music completely around the lyrics which is very time consuming and generally very frusterating for most artists.

Began writing at age 8, when his parents got divorced. Has stated that he has written over 400 songs, poems, screenplays, short stories and books over the past 19 years. Is known for his paranoid, eccentric behavior along with extreme need for secrecy and privacy.

Literally nothing is known of his education. Though it is known he is to be of above average intelligence as indicated by an Online IQ test found with his registered email address. According to the online test which is partly sponsored be MENSA (Mensa International is the largest, oldest, and best-known high-IQ society in the world.) He scored a 144, which would put him in the top percentile in the country. It is also known that he enjoys studying meta-physics, blackholes, astro-physics, experimental mathmatics. And has been working on the development of complex relations with mathmatics to poetry he has developed over the years called "Poematics" a theory and experimental project by where a relationship of mathmatics and poetry converege and the mathmatical design describes the poem and how the story is related to that mathmatical equation.

Of a very left wing and liberal opinion, and often participates in the study and belief in Exo-Politics (Exo-politics is the study of the key individuals, institutions and political processes associated with extraterrrestrial life.) And it is known that in 2004 Presidential race he supported John Kerry, and will support Barack Obama in 2008.
