[edit] Overview

Simon Neil has commented on the song, saying

This is our most straight-up rock song. It's about trying to numb the pain when you're feeling so sad - when you hurt so much you need an escape. Everyone has a different way of escaping.[1]

[edit] Musical structure

The song is in Drop D tuning, a tuning favoured by Biffy Clyro, and features a beginning similar to their 2003 single, "Questions and Answers", with a wall of feedback.

[edit] Trivia

  • When released on iTunes, the artist was listed as Semi-Mental instead of Biffy Clyro making it harder to find and probably losing out on a lot of sales, with iTunes being the main music download site.
  • It was named single of the week by Kerrang! magazine.
