Semen Zhavoronkov

Semen Zhavoronkov (1899-1967) was Soviet commander of a Naval Air Force During the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), headed operations of the units under his command at sea and in coastal areas. Under his leadership, the aviation of the Baltic Navy of the Order of the Red Banner reinforced by long-range bombers' aviation units made a number of air strikes on Berlin military and industrial facilities in the complex ground and air situation that evolved in August-September 1941. In February 1945, Semen Zhavoronkov organised the flight of delegations of the Yalta conference participants to the Soviet Union.
Was awarded many orders and medals.
