Since my revert was reverted without comment, let's go through one by one:
- Record label: what is ex.horseglue? is that horseglue records renamed? if not then does that mean they are now unsigned? or with a different label? I am removing that until it can be clarified.
- Band members: I have sourced your updated members list from myspace.
- Basic description: I'm happy to leave out the post-punk revival thing, but i dont get what your problems were with the rest. iv attempted a compromise, hope its ok now.
- They are notorious for...: They are not notorious for outstanding musicianship, its that simple pretty much. If you can find a reliable source which states that they are, then we'll see. The drinking reference is also unsourced and unencyclopaedic.
- lyrics: i have re-added politically-charged and also referred to the sexually graphic lyrics, i feel that both are important.
- "Je ne sais quoi" is clearly not an encyclopaedic term, i hope you can see.
- Neither is asserting that critics suck corporate cock.
- That they play music outstandingly is a matter of your opinion (and, for what its worth, mine too), not an objective fact suitable for an encyclopaedia.
I have tidied up a couple of other loose words. I hope you are content with this version. Please respond on the talk page before reverting again. Jdcooper 23:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Objectivity of musical skill.
Assessment of music-playing skill can be objective, as it can refer basically to dexterity and muscle memory. Contrast maybe Led Zeppelin, clearly excellent music players, with emotion-based bands with little emphasis on music playing skill, maybe Sum 41. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.128.121.119 (talk) 23:26, 1 January 2007 (UTC).
- If such a concept does exist (and it is true that you find few people claiming that the guitarist from Sum 41 is better than, for example, Steve Vai) then it is still unclear how it relates to Selfish Cunt. Surely most people who praise the band do not do so particularly for their high levels of musical competence? However, if you can find a reliable source for this opinion, it could be relevant.
