Talk:Self Portrait (painting)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is the artist's self portrait. It is not an advertisement as has been suggested. It also marks an important bridge between the artist's signature "portrait" style of art and his "landscape" style (note the trees in the background which relate to his signature landscape stylistic). The artist's other work hangs in important institutions in America, Switzerland, England and Scotland and I would repsectfully suggest that it should not be discounted.

It was suggested that this page should be merged with the artist's main page, i.e. Robert B. Sherman. After some consideration, I think that this is appropriate considering that there is little in the way of description for this painting. However, it should be noted that two examples of the artist's work, Moses (painting) and Carousel In The Country should probably NOT be merged considering the depth of their explanations. To lump the content into the artist's main page would be distracting and each of these works of art has a significant enough presence in the art world to warrant inclusion on Wikipedia, in my opinion.
