[edit] My News

1. After announcing that I was back from my WikiBreak in November, I had to leave temporarily again whilst I moved house. I have now got things in order and I am trying to get back in to the swing of things. I cannot believe what has changed since I left. I read in the Daily Telegraph yesterday about the demise of User:Essjay. Things change I guess!

[edit] About me

Steve Davies (born 13th June 1972 in Liverpool, currently residing in Preston) is a Wikipedia user who is a frequent recent changes patroller and who enjoys helping other Wikipedians. He was an IP editor for a very long time before he decided to sign up for an account. His WikiPrinciples are as follows (and may be added to over time).

  1. All Wikipedians should be Civil.
  2. We should appreciate the contributions of IP Users.
  3. We should respect the opinions and believs of others.
  4. We should all contribute to the fight against Vandalism.
  5. We should all help other users in any way we can.

Davies is said to be a keen follower of politics and having been a life-long Liberal Democrat voter, he claims to have voted Conservative in the 2006 local elections.

[edit] Recent Changes Patrol

I commit a lot of time to ensuring that all of the hard work that people put in to Wikipedia is not vandalised. Many of my edits are marked as a recent changes/edits patrol.

[edit] Supporting Admin Nominations

I have no official policy on who I support for adminship. I prefer to base my support/oppose comments on qualitative data about the admin, and I find having a particular criteria for somebody to meet when running for adminship is destructive.

[edit] Edit Conflicts

I do not usually get involved in edit conflicts, I tend to refer them to other Wikipedians. Leave me a message on my talk page if you would like me to send you some edit conflicts to sort out!
