Sedition Skateboards Canada-A Canadian based skateboard company in existence from 1998 until 2004. Primarily created to address the niche in the skateboard industry created by low-end foreign blank skateboards and high-end professional series decks in the industry. The company started production in 1999 offering basic designs on its 7-ply laminate decks. Moving to higher production amounts in 2002 allowed for experimentation with different types of laminates and plys for more durable decks with better "pop". 2002 saw the production of the industries first 11 ply skateboard deck and its creation soon paved the way for other developments in deck durability. Touted as a leader in the development of the multi-laminate cross-ply deck through tireless research and development, Sedition Skateboards was able to produce a large production run of its new product in 2002. Although the product was well received by the public, high production costs and lukewarm sales, proved almost fatal for the company. The Sedition Skateboard Team consisted of: Steve Boutin, Andrew Lounsbury, Dustin Rees and Craig Legault. Craig Legault went onto place in the top 15 in the World Cup of Skateboarding, held at the Hershey Center in Mississaugain 2003. In late 2003, after selling his interest in the company, owner Koty Kasper moved onto new projects and is presently working for the Ontario Government in Law Enforcement in Youth Justice Services and lecturing part time at the Ontario Police College, which is run by the Ministry of Public Safety and Security, in Aylmer, Ontario.
