[edit] History

The station was put into service in 1900 as part of Northwestern Elevated Railroad's initial route[1], and it is one of the oldest standing stations on the 'L'.

[edit] Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project

Sedgwick Station will be renovated and upgraded as part of the Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project. The historic station house and canopies are to be kept but the platforms will be extended to accommodate 8 rail cars, and the station access will be upgraded to meet ADA requirements[2].
