Sedes Sapientiae
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sedes Sapientiae is a medieval statue of Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom. Nicolaas De Bruyne carved the statue out of wood in 1442.[1] It is located in the church of Saint Peter in heart of the city of Leuven, Belgium. The statue was shattered in the Second World War, though a replica is still on display in the church. It is the symbol of the Catholic University of Louvain.
