Secretary for Justice
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Secretary for Justice (Traditional Chinese: 律政司司長) is a member of the Hong Kong Government responsible for prosecutions and legal matters. The Secretary for Justice heads the Department of Justice. The Secretary for Justice is the third in line, after the Chief Secretary and the Financial Secretary, to act for the Chief Executive when the Chief Executive is on leave or is outside of Hong Kong, and to assume the duty of the office of the Chief Executive when the position is temporarily vacant.
Before the transfer of sovereignty, the position was titled Attorney General (律政司), and the department was called Legal Department.
