Seaweed (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The band Seaweed was a group active throughout the 1990s. They hailed from Tacoma, Washington. In their early days Seaweed was signed to Sub Pop and later released albums on Hollywood Records and Merge Records. Seaweed's contemporaries during the time of their existence included Mudhoney, Samiam, Jawbreaker and tourmates Superchunk and Quicksand. The band toured extensively in the United States as well as overseas. They played in Brazil with Garage Fuzz in various cities (São Paulo, Belo HOrizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Londrina, etc). The band released many albums and several singles during their career. They were well-known for their cover of Fleetwood Mac's Go Your Own Way, which appeared in the movie Clerks. In 2006, "Losing Skin" appeared on the soundtrack for the video game NHL 2K7 [1].
