[edit] History
The three members met at O'Dea High School in Seattle, Washington and realized they had a mutual love for the horror punk outfit The Misfits. They discussed starting a Misfits cover band. Not much time later they discovered psychobilly music, and decided to start a psychobilly band. Kirschner, who played electric bass, began renting an upright bass, because that was typical of rockabilly and psychobilly bands. The band was officially together in 2003.
The band made a rough demo recording with four original songs: "Paranormal Prom," "Between the Eyes," "Destiny or Despair," and "La Noche de los Muertos." Later the band recorded a demo with seven songs, including a re-recording of "Between the Eyes." The demos were mastered by James Hunnicutt, who plays in many bands, including the predominantly-female psychobilly group The Hatchet Wounds.
In 2005, the summer after their high school graduation, the band performed frequent concerts, playing new songs that continued to veer from the typical psychobilly sound and into punk rock. They signed ad deal with Flying Saucer Records to record a full length album. The album was to be recorded that winter. After that summer, the band was forced to take a sabbatical when Kirschner and Muhlstein left for college in California and Montana. Lykken stayed in Bremerton, Washington for community college. They worked on the recording of their full length album, which was produced by James Hunnicutt and Jesse James, singer of psychobilly bands such as The Spectres. As the band members went back to college, Hounnicutt and Steve worked on the album in Bremerton.
The album Monster Mash Into The Fifth Dimension was released May 18, 2006 at a concert in Seattle. The band's first tour was in summer 2006 (with The Hatchet Wounds, Chicago psychobilly band The Massacres and others) performing in cities such as Las Vegas, Pheonix and Los Angeles.
