Sean Elsbernd

Sean Elsbernd (born February 2, 1976) Supervisor Elsbernd represents District 7, encompassing the single-family neighborhoods West of Twin Peaks, as well as the largest rental housing neighborhood west of the Mississippi – the Villas at Parkmerced. Lake Merced, Harding Park Golf Course, San Francisco State University, City College of San Francisco, and Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center are some of the notable landmarks in District 7. The people of District 7 elected Supervisor Elsbernd to the Board of Supervisors in November 2004, following his August 2004 appointment to the Board by Mayor Gavin Newsom. Supervisor Elsbernd currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Rules Committee and Chair of the Transportation Authority’s Finance Committee. Additionally, he sits on the Health Service System Board and the Retirement Board serving City employees and City retirees. Finally, Supervisor Elsbernd has served on the Budget and Finance Committee of the Board of Supervisors in each of his two complete years as a member of the Board.

Supervisor Elsbernd is a third-generation San Franciscan - born, raised, and educated in District 7. He attended grammar school at St. Cecilia’s and then joined Saint Ignatius College Preparatory’s first coeducational class, graduating in 1993. He went on to receive his BA from Claremont McKenna College in 1997 and graduated from University of California Hastings College of the Law in 2000. He was subsequently admitted to the California Bar in December 2000.
