Sean Bianco

Sean Bianco was born in Stockton, California in 1966. He began his journey into the world of music with violin and viola lessons at the age of 8. He studied violin privately for 10 years and performed in recitals and in several regional youth orchestras.

When he was 11, a highlights record of La Gioconda with Zinka Milinov, Giuseppe di Stefano and Leonard Warren caught his eye. He still owns the same record and among these has developed a passion for the voice of Mario Lanza.

Since 1998, he became an on-air announcer for Capitol Public Radio [1] and began hosting Friday Night at the Opera, in which every Friday night he airs an opera cover-cover, followed by "Opera Potpourri", an assortment of arias, etc. mostly played because of listeners' requests.
