Seacrets

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seacrets is a nightclub, bar, restaurant, and concert venue located in Ocean City, Maryland. It is located at the intersection of 49th Street and Coastal Highway, beside the Isle of Wight Bay. It opened as a "locals only" bar in 1988; since then it has grown exponentially, with sixteen bars, four performance areas, a clothing boutique, and an FM/Internet radio station located on the property.

Seacrets bills itself as "Jamaica USA," and the aesthetics of the place match that. Live reggae DJs play regularly, the restaurant features Jamaican-themed cuisine, and every year dozens of palm trees are planted and maintained for the summer season.

In 2001, a state-of-the-art concert hall was constructed and has since featured performances from Good Charlotte, Leon Russell, and Vanilla Ice.

Seacrets is owned by Leighton Moore, who also owns WOCM 98.1 FM.

Every July, usually the night of the second Sunday, Seacrets plays host to an evening gathering of the cousins of the McArdle/Buck/Callahan-extended family. They hail from Maryland and Long Island, NY, and, in some years, number between 90-100 people, staying just up Coastal Highway in Bethany Beach, DE.
