Swedish copyright law says that a photo is PD 70 years after the death of the creator.

Public domain This Swedish photograph is free to use either of these cases:
  • For images of an artistic or scientific significance (photographic creations / fotografiska verk) , the image is public domain in either of these cases
    1. the photographer died before January 1, 1944
    2. the photographer is unknown and can not be traced, and the image was created before January 1, 1944.
  • For photographic images (fotografiska bilder), such as images of the press, the image is public domain if created before January 1, 1969, in accordance with transitional regulations 1994.

The photographer, if known, should always be attributed.
