[edit] Question

Hi, why did you remove the Hungarian name from Căbeşti? It's there for historical purposes, the same reason why we have the Romanian name at Bila Krynytsya. Khoikhoi 07:40, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Answer

Hi, the reason why I removed the Hungarian name from Cabesti is because the Hungarian population in Cabesti is very small (less than 2%). In Romania a city or village can also use the language of the minorities if their population exceeds 20%.

Ah, I see. Did Căbeşti used to have a larger Hungarian population? Also, just because the Hungarian population is lower than 20% does not mean we shouldn't mention the Hungarian name. On Wikipedia that just means we don't have it in the infobox (see Oradea for a contrast). Khoikhoi 07:49, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I suppose Cabesti must have had a larger Hungarian population during the Hungarian rule in Transylvania. I first mentioned the Hungarian name to make the article more interesting, but now I realized that it is virtually no Hungarian population in Cabesti so what's the point in using the Hungarian name too??
