User:Scott Gall/Calendar Reform Proposal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This calendar reform proposal is one where many cycles play a part in this.

The months keep to the lunar cycle, however the 7-day week is preserved and months are a whole number of weeks.

The months are named as follows:

  • Auckland (New Zealand) - 28 days
  • Bordeaux (France) - 28 days
  • Chicago (USA) - 28 days
  • Dusseldorf (Germany) - 35 days
  • Ekaterinburg (Russia) - 28 days
  • Florence (Italy) - 28 days
  • Geneva (Switzerland) - 28 days
  • Hobart (Australia) - 35 days
  • Iasi (Romania) - 28 days
  • Johannesburg (South Africa) - 28 days
  • Karachi (Pakistan) - 28 days
  • Lodz (Poland) - 28 or 35 days
  • Manchester (UK) - 28 days, not always included

Each year has two accumulators: the Lodz accumulator and the Manchester accumulator.

  • The Lodz accumulator: 3712 is added in common years, and 5013 in leap years. When it reaches 5950, 5950 is deducted and the month of Lodz has 35 days.
  • The Manchester accumulator: 11048 is added every year, and when it reaches 30000, 30000 is deducted and the month of Manchester is added.
