About me
Scott Nazelrod is a high school senior living in Goldsby, Oklahoma. Yes, a high school student that doesn't have the urge to insert nonsensical garbage into Wikipedia.
I've been a roadgeek since at least 1994, and I don't have any real reason for stopping (well, I do, but none that I'd be willing to get into explaining here).
Other than that I play the trombone and also do some web design, and I don't rest until my pages are XHTML 1.1 valid. Sometimes I do 3-D modeling, using Anim8or. (My first Wikipedia article was about Anim8or, and it got VFD'd as advertising.)
I am an advanced (X)HTML coder. My computer runs Ubuntu 6.10 (Linux), KDE 3.5, and Firefox 2.0.
As a Wikipedian
Awarded to me by Encyclopedist for State Highway 120 (Oklahoma). | I hereby award Scott5114 the Working Man's Barnstar for his tagging of numerous speedy delete articles. Thank you! --Fang Aili talk 20:56, 30 May 2006 (UTC) |
I occasionally do RC Patrol, but more often NP Patrol. (I don't do either nearly as much as I should though.) And I'm consciously trying to use more edit summaries.[1]
I don't believe in non-Babel userboxes.
As I am a roadgeek, I've been working on adding articles on Oklahoma state highways (I wrote the majority of the articles in Category:Oklahoma state highways, and have been working on the U.S. Roads WikiProject and its descendants. Also, I did a lot of work on the Kansas Turnpike article.
Other than road stuff I have worked on articles for well-known figures in the Oklahoma City area, including meterologist Gary England and the mayor of OKC, Mick Cornett.
My 500th edit was a minor edit to Oklahoma State Highway 120. My 1000th edit was to Hersheypark Arena (Stub flag, some wikification), strangely enough on my 16th birthday (February 2, 2006).
[edit] Articles I've created
Box modeling - Button copy - Mick Cornett - Mount Williams - K-10 - K-52 - Most of Category:Oklahoma state highways - Gary Ridley - Riverwind Casino - Texas State Highway 203 - Turner Diagonal
[edit] Articles I've worked on a lot
Anim8or - Interstate 35 - Interstate 40 - Interstate 44 - Interstate 240 (Oklahoma) - Kansas Turnpike - List of Oklahoma numbered highways - N (game)
Utility Templates
In my userspace I've created a few user subpages so that I don't have to remember/copy-paste swatches of code over and over again. You can use them too. Because they're in userspace, you should always subst:
them. I've given them short, cryptic names to make them quicker to type.
[edit] User:Scott5114/R
Creates a reference block, surrounded by a <div>
tag that makes the text 90% size, to make it less intrusive. As seen on U.S. Route 77, originally seen by me on the W. Mark Felt article. For non-CSS browsers the references appear in normal-sized text.
{{subst:User:Scott5114/R}}
produces this code:
<div class="references-small"> <references/> </div>
- which appears as:
- ^ See User:Mathbot and Wikipedia:Edit summary.

Now a "real" template - {{scaps}}.
