Movements of young people in Ireland, owing much to the legacy of Baden Powell, have a long and deep history which traces all the way back to 1908. The Scout and Guide movement in Ireland is served by
- the Council of Irish Guiding Associations, member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, a federation consisting of:
- the Catholic Guides of Ireland;
- the Irish Girl Guides;
- Scouting Ireland, member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement;
- Baden-Powell Scouts' Association of Ireland, member of the World Federation of Independent Scouts.
Catholic Guides of Ireland and Scouting Ireland are both also active in Northern Ireland.
