The Penyffordd Scout Group is in Penyffordd and the Flintshire Scout District. It was founded by John Griffiths, the village butcher, around 1970. It first met in a building on the local farm and then moved to the renovated old school canteen in the centre of the village.

The group has all three sections of Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts. It supports the District Explorer Scout Unit. The Group previously had a Venture Scouts unit known as the Spartan Venture Scout Unit. After Venture scouting ended it developed an Explorer scout unit.
