[edit] Singles

  • "I've Been Losing You" was released on 22 September 1986. It reached number eight on the UK singles chart. Its b-side, "This Alone is Love," was not included on the album, but was subsequently re-recorded for its follow-up.
  • "Cry Wolf" was released on 24 November 1986. It reached number five on the UK singles chart.
  • "Manhattan Skyline" was released in 16 February 1987. It reached number thirteen on the UK charts.

[edit] Miscellanea

  • The cover photographs were taken in Hawaii by Knut Bry while the band was on tour for their first album.
  • A few of the songs had been demoed previous to the release of Hunting High and Low. Early demos for "The Swing of Things" and "I've Been Losing You" can be found on the Swing of Things book's bonus CD -- though only the former song bears any resemblance to the version appearing here. "This Alone is Love," a b-side from these sessions, had its genesis in Waaktaar and Furuholmen's previous band Bridges.
  • Extended remixes of "I've Been Losing You," "Cry Wolf," and "Manhattan Skyline" were released on their respective singles. The Japanese-only EP Scoundrel Club collects an instrumental dub mix of "I've Been Losing You," plus the extended remixes of "Cry Wolf" and "Manhattan Skyline," along with a live version of "We're Looking for the Whales" and an extended mix of "Hunting High and Low."
