Scottsdale Scorpions

The Scottsdale Scorpions are an Arizona Fall League baseball team located in Scottsdale, Arizona. They play their home games at Scottsdale Stadium.

In 1994, the team gained worldwide media attention, when Michael Jordan began trying to become a major league baseball player by joining the Scorpions. After one year, Jordan was shipped off to the Birmingham Barons, in Birmingham, Alabama.

In 2005, the team played its games in Surprise, Arizona due to renovations of Scottsdale Stadium. The team will return to Scottsdale Stadium in 2006.

The Scorpions are popular among Scottsdale residents, and somewhat popular among residents of other cities adjacent to Phoenix.
