American Poet (Born January 25, 1971 - )

Columbus, OH poet, musician, critic. Has been performing poetry at readings, slams, and open-mic nights since the early 90's. A complete bibliography and discography can be found here [1].

Woods has been performing poetry at readings, slams, and open-mic nights since the early 90's. He is currently the president of Poetry Slam, Inc. (PSI) [2], an office he has held since 2005.

Woods runs weekly poetry slams at the Columbus Music Hall, in Columbus, OH, and a monthly New Poem Only open mic at Kafe Kerouac (a local Venue) as one of two founding members (Vernell Bristow also being co-founder) of The Writers' Block Poetry Night [3].

In April of 2006, Scott Woods performed the first-ever 24-hour poetry reading in Columbus, Ohio, and plans are underway to perform another 24-hour feature at Kafe Kerouac from March 31-April 1, 2007.

While Woods has appeared on a variety of recordings for other artists and groups, he has independently released over a dozen recordings under various pseudonyms for his record label, Black Air Press Music. Much of the music would be classified under electronica, specifically the downtempo genre.
