Scott Stevens (footballer)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scott Stevens (born 15 January 1982 in Perth, Western Australia) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

Stevens attended Wesley College, Perth and played in the WAFL with Perth Football Club before being recruited to the Sydney Swans, where he made his AFL debut in 2002. Considered to be one of the slowest players in the AFL, but has brilliant skills with his foot and hand and rarely misses a target.

He moved to the Adelaide Crows in 2004 where he played a solid season, but foot and shoulder injuries kept him sidelined for the entire 2005 season.

In 2006 he resumed training, following surgery on his shoulder and foot during March and played his first AFL game in Round 2. With only 5 disposals, he was not re-selected until Round 7, but quickly found form, including an average of over 18 disposals playing at centre half-back. He played every remaining game except for Round 21 from Round 7.
