Scott Reeder

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article relates to the bassist Scott Reeder. For the former Sunshine drummer and member of Fu Manchu please see Scott Reeder (drummer).

Scott Reeder is the left-handed bass player formerly of the stoner rock band Kyuss. He joined Kyuss after the departure of Nick Oliveri and remained there until the band went on indefinite hiatus in October 1995. Reeder reunited with former Kyuss singer John Garcia to form Unida, a stoner rock band which only released one full-length album before running into legal problems.

In 2002, he was among 8 bassists to audition for Metallica, including Robert Trujillo, and Pepper Keenan. Short excerpts from his meeting with the band can be seen in Metallica's documentary Some Kind of Monster.

In 2006 he released his first solo album TunnelVision Brilliance on which all tracks were written and performed by himself. Reeder handled production and bass duties for the band Bütcher and appeared on their album Auricle in 2005. He left the band in October of 2006.
