From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scott Reed is a former inker for Malibu Comics, Marvel Comics and Dark Horse Comics. He is currently the self-publisher of Web's Best Comics, which features his series The Last Odyssey and High Strangeness. He is the writer of upcoming Image Comics mini-series The Overman. He presently writes, illustrates and publishes a weekly web comic entitled Champion Of A Lost Universe.
Reed's first professionally published comic work was in 1990, for defunct Greater Mercury Comics (formerly Silver Wolf Comics). Reed inked two issues of The Eradicators.
In 1993 Reed was hired by Malibu Comics. There he contributed inks to many of their books, including Star Trek:DS9, Mortal Kombat and various 'Ultraverse' line of comics.
Reed left Malibu in 1995 to pursue a freelance career at Dark Horse Comics and later Marvel Comics. His inking credits there include Godzilla, G.I.Joe, and the comic book adaptations of films Independence Day and Mission:Impossible.
In 1997, Reed wrote and illustrated a graphic novel entitled High Strangeness, which received critical acclaim from mainstream media sources such as USAToday and SciFi Channel.[citation needed] He later formed Web's Best Comics.
His current series, Champion Of A Lost Universe, is published online and in print. The series is based on 'legendary' comics publisher Voyager Comics and claims to be a 're-imagined' special edition mini-series originally created by the mythical Burt Colt. In addition, Reed has recently written a comic mini-series, The Overman, scheduled for publication by Image Comics in 2007, with art by Shane White.[citation needed]
