Statistics

Scott Paxson (born February 3, 1983 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a professional American football player, playing defensive tackle in the National Football League. He signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers shortly after the 2006 NFL draft, but was released during the preseason. He spent several weeks with the Green Bay Packers during the 2006 regular season, before signing a reserve-future contract with the Steelers on January 8, 2007. [1]

Paxson was named All-Big Ten Conference following his senior season at Penn State University. He attended Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Paxson was charged with assault following a December 2004 incident in which he was accused of forcing himself on a female student. A more serious charge of sexual assault was thrown out by Centre County, Pennsylvania Judge Bradley P. Lunsford in April 2006. Paxson has declared his intention to sue the Centre County District Attorney's Office following the outcome of the case, citing the hundreds of thousands of dollars he lost when his stock as a prospect in the 2006 NFL Draft plummeted.

He suffers from Type I diabetes.
