Scott Oake is a Canadian sportscaster for CBC Sports.
Oake was a pre-med student at Memorial University who volunteered at the campus radio station. After part-time work at CBC St. John's, he was hired full-time in 1974.
Scott was the sports anchor on CBWT's 24Hours from 1979 till about 1989.
He is probably best known as a contributor to Hockey Night in Canada, the CBC's flagship television show for NHL games.
He has covered many important events including the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and many other sports.
Oake won a 2003 Gemini Award for Best Host or Interviewer in a Sports Program or Sportscast for an interview he conducted with Brett Hull.
He hosted the television special Making the Cut, in 2004.
