Scott Kannberg

Scott Kannberg was a member of the seminal 1990s indie-rock band Pavement, being the childhood friend of lead singer Stephen Malkmus. He contributed an average of about two songs per album during the band's career. He currently has his own band called Preston School of Industry on Matador Records. His nickname "Spiral Stairs" was originally used to create mystery about the band, similarly to how Stephen Malkmus went under the name SM, as is noted on the Slanted and Enchanted artwork.
