Kenneth Scott Hannan (born on January 23, 1979 in Richmond, British Columbia) is an NHL defenceman for the San Jose Sharks. He was selected in the first round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, 23rd overall, by the San Jose Sharks.

Hannan has been praised by players like Petr Sykora and Peter Forsberg for his ability to frustrate opposing forwards.[citation needed] Alexander Ovechkin called Hannan "the toughest defenseman to play against. [1] Hannan has played for Canada in many international tournaments.

Hannan is currently on the last year of a three-year, US$6,469,500 contract. [2]
