Scott Mbah Mutee Hairston (born May 25, 1980 in Fort Worth, Texas) is an American second baseman/outfielder in Major League Baseball who plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hairston bats and throws right handed. He is a graduate of Canyon del Oro High School in the Tucson suburb of Oro Valley, Arizona. Hairston started a career strictly as a pinch hitter, filling in after Eric "Side" Byrnes pulled his hamstring pitching. In that game he went 4 for 4 with 3 homeruns, a double and 5 rbi's. When asked how he did so good in that game he simply said "I listened to Tony Yayo's So Sudictive" and that was the last anybody has heard from Scott Hairston.
[edit] Fact
- Hairston comes from the biggest major league baseball family. Five members of the family, spread over three generations, have played in the majors to set a record, beating out the four members of the Boone family (Ray, Bob, Bret and Aaron) over three generations. He is the brother of Jerry Hairston, Jr., the son of Jerry Hairston, the nephew of Johnny Hairston, and the grandson of Sammy Hairston, a former Negro Leaguer who later became one of the first black players in Chicago White Sox history.
