Junior Warrant Officer Schrödinger (シュレディンガー准尉 Junior Warrant Officer Shuredingā?) is a character in the manga Hellsing and a member of the Millennium forces.

Though there has been some debate in the Western world regarding his species, Schrödinger has been identified by Hirano as a catboy (Werwolf would be the military unit he serves in), and created by Doc.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

He has the form of a young boy with cat ears and a perpetual smirk, dressing in a Hitler Youth uniform and holding the rank of HJ-Oberstammführer in the Hitler-Jugend. Usually found sitting underneath the Major's throne like a pet, he also acts as an envoy for Millennium. Due to his ability to be "everywhere and nowhere" at the same time, he entered the Hellsing mansion without tipping off their defenses to deliver a message; after having his head blown off, he later appeared unscathed back at Millennium's headquarters. (This ability, his name, and his being feline are obviously a reference to the famous "Schrödinger's cat" scenario in quantum physics.) The exact nature of Schrödinger's abilities has yet to be defined. He was able to appear in Hellsing's conference room without difficulty, and also appeared to Zorin Blitz while Blitz was attempting to attack Seras Victoria's mind, indicating that he can appear in mental realms as well. His "everywhere and nowhere" quality could be a form of teleportation, or even omnipresence.

Apart from the Doctor and the Captain, Schrödinger mostly interacts with the Major and seems to share his love of warfare. In a dialogue with him, Schrödinger remarked that the Major was a "sadistic man" who takes every living person in his wake, companion or foe, with him in his "languid charge to the bowels of hell." It seems he is more intelligent and perceptive than his apparent age would lead one to think. Although he hasn't fought yet, speculation abounds as to whether he is one of Millennium's secret weapons. He often brags to the Major or The Doctor about the things he has done, and once told the Major to lose weight, since he "Went to England, got my head blown off by a freakishly huge gun, and came back, all in the time it took you to walk down that hallway."

In chapter 77 Finesthour (2), he greets Sir Integra and Seras as they enter the landed Hindenburg II. An addled and stressed Integra swiftly blows off his head with her handgun. It is likely that due to his abilities he has survived this blow.

Spoilers end here.

Due to his interaction with the other male leads and his very short shorts (as well as the fact that many other catboys are gay), he has gained some attention from yaoi fangirls. This is ironic, given Nazi anti-gay policies. However, it is not beyond reason, considering that some high ranking Nazis, like Ernst Röhm were openly homosexual. A running gag attributed to his character (which even Hirano picked on, presumably) is his uncanny (but probably coincidental) resemblance to Seras prompting fans to call him "Seras's boobless male equivalent" or variations thereof.
