Schoten is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Schoten proper. On January 1, 2006 Schoten had a total population of 33,160. The total area is 29.55 km² which gives a population density of 1,122 inhabitants per km².

The commune of Schoten lies between
- the Antwerp districts Merksem [in the west] and Deurne [in the south west]
- and the communes Brasschaat [in the north], Brecht [in the north east], Schilde [in the east] and Wijnegem [in the south].
The commune counts approximately 33.000 habitants.
Schoten is a green haven [30% of the commune exists out of forest area], only 10 km away from the citycenter of Antwerp.
