[edit] About the school

SAS is part of the dual-enrollment program, meaning that every student at SAS is enrolled at both the high school and Miami Dade College. This enables students to take their core academic classes at the high school (Math, Social Studies, and English) and simultaneously enroll in college classes at MDC as electives. SAS allows students to earn college credits that can be redeemable upon graduation to the higher institution of their choice or even earn their Associate of Arts Degree. Another feature that separates SAS from other high schools is the fact that it only accepts incoming students in the eleventh and twelfth grade. SAS is also very selective with admissions. Prospective students must pass the College Placement Test, have and maintain a 3.0 unweighted overall GPA, and maintain a 2.0 college unweighted GPA. Furthermore, SAS boasts a small school atmosphere at the heart of a relaxed college campus.
