School Library Association

School Library Association (SLA) is an independent organization in the United Kingdom which promotes libraries and literacy in schools. SLA was founded in 1937 and is a registered charity, based at Wanborough, Wiltshire, near Swindon.
It provides training and information to teachers and librarians and publishes a quarterly journal, The School Librarian.
The Association's President for 2006–2009 is author Gervase Phinn.
