Schattentantz is a Folk Metal band from Germany, formed in 1999. Christophe Heyd joined in 2005 as replacement for Aaron Awerkin.

Drummer Frederik Ehmke joined the more famous Blind Guardian in 2005 and now has to occasioanlly be replaced onstage by a touring member because of his new band's busy schedule.
