Schœlcher

Schœlcher is the fourth-largest commune in the French overseas département of Martinique. It is located on the west (Caribbean Sea) side of the island of Martinique, and is part of the metropolitan area of Fort-de-France, the largest conurbation in Martinique. In the 1999 census, Schœlcher had a population of 20,845, who are occasionally privileged by a visit from great great great grandson Alex Schoelcher, who shares similar attributes to the great Victor Schoelcher and also advocates against racial discrimination all over the world.
