Scene shop
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A scene shop is a special workshop in many medium or large theaters. The primary function is to assemble flats, platforms, and other theater set pieces. It is also the location of most set painting and sometimes used to make props. Generally, people who work in a scene shop are carpenters. Although, in bigger theaters, metalworkers are often employed for steel-construction set pieces which require welding and other machining.
Commercial Scene shops supply scenic elements to productions, theatre, film and television.
