Talk:Scale analysis (statistics)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi guys, here are the terms I was mentioning in class as a starting point for a taxonomy of the methods covered.
- probabilistic -- deterministic
- nonparametric -- parametric
- dominance (Guttman) -- proximity
- ordinal (nonmetric) -- interval (metric)
- bottom-up -- top-down
- continous -- discrete
- latent -- manifest
- explorative -- confirmative
- Guttman: nonmetric dominance model, perfect deterministic cumulative scale,
Besides these, I have a few terms which (as I understand it) can be defined for each model separately.
- Purpose of model
- Definition of model violation
- Amibiguity in the negative response (= what does "no" mean?)
- Parameter estimation
- Test of mdel fit
