Scapin is an Italian company which has been hand-building bicycles for 42 years. Alongside this tradition, Scapin utilizes modern computer aided design software, CICLOCAD, to scientifically optimize their frame design, in cooperation with long time Italian bicycle tubing supplier Columbus. The precise geometry of each frame, as well as the settings for the machinery required to build it, is specified, and the frame is hand built and finished.

Scapin is an innovator in corrosion proofing their bicycles. In order to prevent corrosion, the tubing is internally finished. A special anti-corrosion treatment called All Weather Proof (AWP), a triple process composed of zinc-nickel plating, phosphoric treatment and finally "black electrophoresis", is used to make the frames resistant to corrosion and rust, externally and internally.
