Thanks for helping us to get a photo on the Drum and bugle corps (modern) article! If I may ask, where did you acquire this image, and is it possible to get more, to showcase some other corps/DCA corps/relevant pictures for individual sections?

Again, thank you for your contribution to the article, and welcome to Wikipedia. --Mr Bound 19:47, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)

A friend sent it to me by MSN messenger. I have a whole load of 2004 photos saved from the web but I'm reluctant to use any of them because of the licensing restrictions. Any ideas on that would be appreciated. Also, DrumCorpsWiki seems like a great idea and I'm totally up for contributing to that as well. I'm pretty new to Wikipedia actually, but I am a keen web developer so anything I can do on the web (especially drum corps related!) is welcomed with open arms! It may be possible to acquire and use photos from the DCI website, but only with their written permission it seems, after having read their "Legal" page. --Sbutler 19:55, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Well, these links are of some use.

I would say that if we look anywhere, it might be best to ask at Corps Reps. It's a private site with some solid photo galleries, and I think the owner would be willing to let us use some images. I would think that there's something relevant for almost every section.

Also, I've got your page (as well as about every drum and bugle corps page) on "watch", so if we continue the conversation here I'll be able to check in when there's a new message. --Mr Bound 21:50, Jan 2, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] USMC

So it seems that photos from US military websites are public domain, and I can't see any reason why the US Marine Corps Commandant's Own Drum & Bugle Corps would be any exception. I was thinking, is there anything about the Commandant's Own in the article? They are, as far as I am aware, the only professional (true) drum and bugle corps in existence, with other professional organisations such as Star of Indiana's blast! and Cyberjam merely spin-offs of the activity. Maybe you or I could add a word or two about these. I think I will read through the article again and try to think of anything that has been omitted (to my knowledge). --Sbutler 10:56, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

And I was right, I have uploaded a good one overlooking DCI retreat 2002 showing the backs of the Commandant's Own as they played in the stands

[edit] Wikiproject Drum Corps

I would like to invite you to join the newly formed WikiProject Drum Corps, a WikiProject for the expansion of all things drum corps. If you'd like, add your name to the list of members, and lend a hand in some of the things we have yet to do! There's plenty lying around, but even a small contibution is very welcome. Hope to see you lending your knowledge to our growing collection of drum corps articles! Mr Bound 18:51, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
