Saylorville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Polk County, Iowa, United States. The population was 3,238 at the 2000 census. The Saydel Community School District is located in this area. The unincorporated community of Marquisville is in this area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 21.6 km² (8.4 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,238 people, 1,226 households, and 982 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 149.7/km² (387.8/mi²). There were 1,249 housing units at an average density of 57.8/km² (149.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.26% White, 1.64% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.83% Asian, 0.49% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.74% of the population.

There were 1,226 households out of which 32.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.1% were married couples living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.9% were non-families. 15.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.90.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 27.9% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 101.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.1 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $67,197, and the median income for a family was $72,882. Males had a median income of $41,486 versus $35,833 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $28,034. None of the families and 2.1% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 5.1% of those over 64.
