Savudrija (Italian Salvore) is a coastal and nowadays border settlement which has developed from a fishing village into the pleasant holiday centre, which is since 1954 a summer sanctuary for children from the inland of Slovenia. The village was mentioned in a written sources already in the second part of the 12th century and is from 13th century part of the Piran municipality. On February 18th 1893 Piran municipality became owner of Savudrija with the neighbour area. The sight of the settlement is 29 m high lighthouse. Here meets three kinds of the wind so the sea is popular with windsurfing.
