"Save Room" is the first single from John Legend's sophomore album, Once Again. Save Room is a joyful, cool love song that samples Gabor Szabo's version of the Classics IV hit "Stormy". As John recalls, "will.i.am brought the sample. I didn't even know the original. I just knew it was a nice organ sound and wanted to write to it. I just started mumbling along to it, finding my place in the melody and it worked for me." The song is different from Legend's previous singles as the piano is not used in the song. The absence of the piano is meant to profile Legend as a singer and not a piano player.
The song's music video was shot in various locations in New York City and features Legend in relations with several different women. Legend is seen trying to stay in relationships with the women but having trouble doing so.
The single was released as a download only single in the UK. Chart rules at the time stated that if no physical format was available, a single would not be able to chart. This is why "Save Room" did not chart in the UK.
