The old Savannah High School building, located on Washington Avenue between East and West Atlantic Aves, built by WPA, was once the largest public school building in the U.S. The 3 story brick and mortar structure included two interior courtyards, on of which held a rifle range for the ROTC. The distance around the interior hallway was in excess of one quarter mile.

The Graduation Class of 1957 will hold their 50th year reunion on October 19 & 20, 2007
