Saul Martínez (born 29 January 1976 in Colón, Honduras) is a football forward who currently plays in Honduras for CD Motagua. Saul is married and he and his wife, Roxana, have a baby boy, Joshua, born in September 2005 in Miami, Florida. He first attracted the attentions of Shanghai Shenhua when he scored a hat trick against Slovenia during a competition in Hong Kong in early 2002. Shenhua quickly signed him and afterwards, Martinez became one of the most important players in the Shenhua team. In 2003, he scored against Argentina during a friendly 3-1 loss.
