User talk:SatyrTN/test bm infobox

This seems like a decent start. A few ideas:

  • Have a link to the event's official site as part of the infobox
  • Perhaps change "Burning Man related event" to "Burner event"
  • Leave out "number of years" -- one more thing to update, and people can work it out from the start date
  • Is there some kind of burning-man logo that is in the public domain that we can use? I've used the )°( cop-out ASCII art on my wikipedia userpage because I couldn't answer this question to my own satisfaction.

Sweet! I've updated the template with your suggestions. I'm also inquiring about the BM logo from someone "high up" in the Transformus org. Of course, with all the BM org people at the event, it'll be hard to get any information in any sort of quick way :)
On another note, I was thinking of another thing that I might add - whether or not the event is an "official" BM regional. But since the BM site seems to be moving away from the concept of "official" regional events (take a look at the regionals page on the BM site), maybe I won't do that. I don't know enough about the Burning Man org to say, but I've suspected that the line between an official Burning Man event and something with a looser association was hard to discern, and that's why I suggested Burner instead of Burning Man related. I suppose you could add a "status" row with values like "official regional burn" "hippie campout" "a few guys with leftover fuel to burn getting together on the weekend" etc. adamrice 17:48, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I kinda like "a few guys with leftover fuel to burn getting together on the weekend" - but maybe that's too long. How about acronymizing it: "AFGwLFtBGTotW"? :) SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 20:19, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh yeah, and 'attendance' should be changed to 'participants'. adamrice 21:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
