[edit] imogiri

G'day from a wet part of oztraylia, your bot thingy descended upon the above name. I am very curious as to what the bot thingy is interested in. I have dabbled with te article at times and wondered what might be specifically the fault it might hone in on?? would appreciate a response! SatuSuro 10:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

I actually didn't tag the page. Alphachimpbot completes the simple and repetitive task of converting cleanup links to month-specific cleanup links. The actual tag was issued by Fortunecookie 289 here. That being said, I'll offer my opinion. The article does not appear to match the standard Wikipedia articles. Although the content appears to be there, it's format is generally non-consistent with a featured article (See Stuyvesant High School (a featured article) to see what I mean). I hope that helps. I've appended the wikify tab also. This comment is posted on both of our talk pages. --Alphachimp talk 21:48, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Imogiri

Could you please explain what you had in mind for putting a cleanup on the art? It would be useful to know before it gets descended upon by editors who know nothing about the place (as happens for topics on things to do with Java  :) . Also, clearing away a stub makes it an orphan - is that really necessary? Please respond. Ta. ---- (this comment was added by Vcxlor)

Thanks for your response regarding my removal of the stub tag and addition of the cleanup tag. According to the definition of a stub by Wikipedia: Stub the Imogiri article does not meet the qualifications of a stub article. The purpose of the stub tag is to draw the attention of editors to provide more information. It has enough information to make a quality article, although I think it needs extensive work (especially in sentence structure) and some wikification. I hope this clears things up, but feel free to reply with your thoughts. This comment is posted on both of our talk pages. cøøkiə Ξ (talk) 02:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] west coast tas

Hi I've been updating refs and finding stub and category together - once a cat is up, surely its worth removing the stub, yes? SatuSuro 15:28, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

All articles should have a category. Short ones should also be marked with a stub tag. The guideline is that if it's shorter than 3-10 sentences and doesn't contain an overview of the entire subject, it's still a stub.--Scott Davis Talk 15:32, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Bird Atlas

I don't really know anything about the Atlas. I only wrote the article because I wanted to give some perspective on The Banksia Atlas. Methinks the article needs your historical perspective. :-) Snottygobble 23:53, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re Thomas William Hogarth

Hi SatuSuro,

Hi, your expand request - is it shaping up (sans photo) to what you would expecct? SatuSuro 01:58, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for taking the trouble to message me – I must admit I don't recall asking, but that doesn't matter, as I agree and see it's improving steadily. Two suggestions come to mind:

  1. Remove the "Thomas William Hogarth" and "Biography" subheadings; I'd say people arriving at the article would expect it be (mostly) a biography of the person whose name is the article title. If you agree, I'd also then convert the first bullet into the article's introductory sentence or sentences;
  2. Combine/expand some of the sentences currently under the "Biography" heading into two or three paragraphs or more than one sentence each, i.e. make it more prose-like.

Thanks for your work!  Best wishes, David Kernow 02:31, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
